Many concerns have been circling the choice of Rick Warren to be the person chosen to lead in prayer at President Elect Obama's Inaugeration on January 20th. Many that have caused me to be taken back. I understand that equal rights are important. I know that a vote yes on 8 really makes you think about how a person can say they love you but yet deny you equal rights from a human standpoint. On the other hand how can you deny them their beliefs in return. Obama is doing the right thing. He is attempting to be a president for all americans and not just the far left or the far right. I think its exciting considering how far right the previous administration was. Its encouraging to see the bi-partisanship. For years I heard people complain about Bush and all his policies and statements only to complain about Obama picking a pastor of a Christian church. Whether we like it or not the Christian community is a huge part of America and to deny them would be un american just as denying someone equal rights. I give Obama credit for this one. I think he made a good choice. I think he is saying to America that its not a time to think in divisional terms but in terms of bringing people together. Dont get me wrong I dont agree with everything Rick Warren believes but I do respect him. Most of all I respect Obama for this move. I STILL cant wait for January 20th. Its going to be a great day for the U.S. and the world.Wednesday, December 31, 2008

Pets are a part of the family!

Last night I went to see Marley and Me. Before I went I knew that this was a true story about a family and a dog. A very bad dog at that. I went in thinking it was going to be funny. It was of course. However, it was more than just that it was a very touching story about how a pet can become a part of the family. We went in looking for a laugh but also got a few tears out of it as well. This was a great movie and a must see.

What? Math isn't fun what are you talking about?

I had been out of college for 5 years prior to going back and I had not taken a math class since. I am almost through the semester and finals are here. I found this site half way through the class. It helped me to understand the material easier. A big reason was because my teacher was garbage and another is because the teacher that provides the videos on this site is awesome. He is easy to understand and entertaining. Not dry and boring like most math teachers. Check it out if you need some help. It beats having to go to the tudoring center.

Auto Bailout

With the crisis in the Auto industry I cant help but think about all the crappy cars that these companies have made over the years. Its a shame in the sense that these big three have not moved with the times. We all hear the old saying "Buy American." I don't want to. Every American car I have had sucked. It felt cheap. It didn't feel worth the money paid for it. I mean we invented cars. You would think we would be the leaders in this industry and we have fallen. Its sad to see these corporations needing to request money from the government. I do hope they make it out because it will bode well for our suffering economy.

RIGHT Vs. LEFT

I used to identify with the right wing media of this country. However, as I have gotten older I have slowly gravitated away from that Identity. Alot of it was because of changes in my life but a huge part is the right wing media. In the first few weeks of the President Elects days all I have been hearing is outlandish comments. Like hes a communist, socialist, terrorist, etc. Its almost as if, and I believe this to be true, that they have nothing to talk about so they resort to celebrity trash talk. With Obama they dont have much to attack. They are straining at a nat. Now, what gets me is when they get on their nationally syndicated talk shows and say Obama is a terrorist or he palls around with them. This is just a bent statement. Considering there are no facts to back that up but "Bill Ayers." So the right wing media hangs on to it because thats all they got. Well what about Rev. Wright? Well, of course that in my book was a poor decision on Obama's part to attend his church. They try to paint him as a racist? What? I was thinking last week about the fact that 4 of our Presidents have been killed. One of them shot but survived. Not to mention Bobby Kennedy and MLK. Many leaders have fallen to some crazed nut that has an agenda that is un-human. I am neither a Republican or a Democrat. I usually am a centralist but I do believe the right wing needs to be careful with its base. You fuel the fire of those who are crazy enough to try and take the presidents life. With the anniversary of Jonestown upon us it makes you think. Is there still one more crazy nut out there that may try and do the unthinkable? Well, 9/11 tells us its possible. I just think the statements that are being said are irresponsible and in poor taste. On the flip side though I dont agree with the censorship laws that many on the left are trying to pass. I think it to be unconstitutional.

Throwin up tha DUBBYAHH!!

The 49ers lost a close one last night. About a yard close. Tough way to lose a game. Few things I took from it. The niners turned the ball over 3 times and still almost beat the cardinals. Kurt Warner threw for over 300 yards and they still almost lost. The Niners should won this game. I like how hard they played and I think the Singletary era is up and running. I am excited to see how they play next game. I am not hoping for the playoffs this year but maybe next year we can expect more from the team. We shall see. To finish this thought. Michael Robinson? What were you thinking Martz? GORE!!! Best player on the field. At least have him in the game and why are we running from the 3 yard line up the middle? They stuffed Gore the first time and he still almost got in I might add, but 2 in a row? Bootleg? Play Action? If we were on the 1 or 1/2 yard line. I understand but 3 yards is a long way and we need to get in the endzone. Bad call from a good coordinator. Really bad call. That brought me back to Mariucci. Ugggh....it will get better. I have to believe that.

RFK
Today was a reflective day for me about what happened on November 4. I reflected on presidents and politicians in the past. I remembered Bobby Kennedy. I remembered this speech in the video. The creator of this video put a montage of photos that makes you think but my focus is on one of the greatest speeches of our time. How Bobby K. was able to grip the people as he spoke. How when he spoke people listened. I then think of the President Elect. I think about the feeling we have as a nation how we felt when he spoke last Tuesday night. It was that as the country felt when Bobby aspired to be President. There is a definite excitement that has swept the country. A feeling of change and hope. Let me know what you think about Obama as well as the video posted. Let me know your thoughts.
