Casual Fridays? How about just casual everyday?

Years back I started working at jobs that were in offices. With that came a very mundane feeling. Getting off of the BART train and walking up the escalator only to feel like a robot looking at the long faces alongside me. Working a 9-5 job can be very boring and hard to endure. I like to call it a slow death. This is only because of the repetitive nature of these types of jobs. (PAUSE: Now I know you saw the pic above and its freakin hilarious isnt it?) Then there is Casual Fridays. The reason behind it was to boost moral. I admit I love throwing on the occasional jeans on friday. However, it now has become such a standard practice at most companies that its lost its luster. Its just another part of the good old rat race that we love so much. Can you hear my sarcasim? So, being its casual friday today I must admit it feels good sitting in my chair writing this in a comfortable shirt and jeans. I am also happy to be working and to have a casual day to come to. Although I long for the day that I dont have to be restricted by someone telling me what to wear to the workplace. A day when I make that decision.

Well - I guess I feel you...but it depends on the type of business...some offices are casual all the time and others are more restricted. And well at the Obama white house the lucky people that get to work there are allowed to come to the white house office in business casual on SATURDAYS - for those lucky folks that get to work on the weekends :) Obama may not require jackets in the oval office M - F but everyone is wearing a suit...I guess you wouldn't feel the same if you were working at the white house...but I just wish I had a job so I don't really care anymore...I'll wear a clown suit to work on Friday's if it'll get me the job :)
